This is a tragedy. We must find out what happened to him, in case we can prevent it from happening to others. Our hearts are heavy.

Ada County Coroner determined it was cardiac tamponade, when the sac around the heart fills with fluid, then the heart can't pump enough blood out. Sad.

Yes, we did see that today. But the question is how did this occur. We did some research on the condition, and it has many possible causes. Regardless of the cause, this sudden death in a young, promising man is a tragedy.

Grok summary (Note: We are NOT doctors, just researchers): https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtMi1jb3B5_4e89f6dd-fe42-4ee6-87cb-e9819b8d9477

Summary from Grok of cardiac tamponade causes:

Mainstream medical: Blunt/penetrating trauma, aortic dissection, malignancy (e.g., lung/breast cancer), myocardial infarction (ventricular rupture), pericarditis/infections (viral, bacterial, TB, fungal), iatrogenic (cardiac surgery/procedures, catheterization, central lines), autoimmune (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis), uremia/kidney failure, hypothyroidism, radiation therapy, idiopathic.

VAERS-reported: Rare cases after mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna; often pericarditis progressing to effusion/tamponade, within days-weeks post-dose); isolated reports with diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine.

Beautiful Brian. I echo your sentiments. I spoke to him last Saturday at the Canyon County Lincoln Day -such a kind man.

Today is a day to reflect on the sanctity of life and how at any moment things can change tremendously. Maybe we all take a moment to reflect on how precious life is and how we do treat others….. “ be like Rick”

May his memory be for a blessing and his family, comforted and supported through this terrible tragedy.
