We're writing regarding the above article about the Idaho Judicial District 4 Election. We'd like to clarify some points that may have been missed during analysis of the candidates, especially Jeffrey Street. We hope this information will be helpful and could lead to future articles about the Judicial District 4 election.
We have spoken personally with Jeffrey Street. We support judges who support the constitution and the law. We believe Jeffrey Street would make an excellent judge for Idaho’s Fourth Judicial District (Ada County, Boise County, Elmore County, Valley County).
Mr. Street recently provided us with information in response to an article by Brian Almon in Gem State Chronicle about candidates for Idaho’s Fourth Judicial District.
After one in-person meeting at a candidate forum during Primary season and several conversations and emails with Mr. Street regarding Brian Almon’s article, we were impressed by Mr. Street’s thoroughness, strict adherence to judicial and campaign ethics, and his attention to detail. We simply called and emailed him with questions and he responded promptly, with great respect and no defensive attitude whatsoever.
As he stated in an email to us, Mr. Street plans to address judicial elections in a post soon, but he is not looking to engage with, or provide a platform for, individuals who are attempting to turn this judicial election into a partisan election. He believes doing so would be a disservice to the legal community and to Idahoans generally.
In the meantime, we hope you will check out the supporting references below and talk with Jeffrey Street in person at the Meet, Mingle & Support Event on October 6 in Boise (see flyer event text below).
