Nobody voted for this? Yes everyone that voted in past elections voted for this indirectly. We elected our representatives who could have stopped this years ago. But they didn't, or may have not known as this kind of grants are hidden in the multi thousands of pages spending bills or setup from unelected bureaucracies hidden in those massive bills. Our reps need to grow backbones and shrink the spending.
Seems to me that taking taxpayer dollars and using it to lobby politically should be against the law. Government grants also should not be used to affect political outcomes. Money that comes from taxes should be nonpartisan in intent and effect. I should not be forced to pay for partisan political goals that I oppose.
Would be interesting for you to take a look at the cities and towns that literally run on grants- I am astounded how many grants are applied for and used to keep the doors open in Salmon Idaho?
