It’s been exciting to watch the growth of this publication over the last two years. In January 2022 I created a crude logo and started writing, with no idea how far this thing would go. As the 2024 election season kicks into high gear I am working to make this platform as useful as possible to Idaho citizens.

This morning I created two new Substack sections. At the top of the screen on the Substack homepage you can see “Sunday Devotions” and “Weekly Updates”. These will essentially be separate newsletters going forward, along with the regular daily posts.

What this means is that you now have more flexibility in what you receive in your email box. I’ve heard from a few people who want to support my work but are overwhelmed by daily emails. Now you have an option to trim it back. Click here to visit your Substack account page where you can turn off certain email notifications:

If you want to keep receiving everything I publish, then leave it all checked. If you like my political posts but don’t often read Sunday devotionals, then uncheck "Sunday Devotions". If you only want to get weekly updates with links to the stories I’ve written, uncheck everything except "Weekly Updates".

To keep getting daily emails make sure to leave “Gem State Chronicle” checked.

Going forward I might add even more flexibility, perhaps regional options so those outside the Treasure Valley can turn off those stories. Let me know what you think.

Even if you unsubscribe from certain emails, you’ll still be able to visit the website and read everything that you could before. If you’re a paid subscriber, you will still be able to visit the site and read bonus notes. These settings don’t affect your subscription, just what you get in your email.

I’ve also resumed work on the merch store. I’m working with my vendor to get things set up on that end and I’m also getting my Idaho tax account set up too. Very soon I’ll unveil the first couple of items. Paid subscribers will get a special coupon code for a significant discount.

Finally, my list of ideas for upcoming articles is getting longer. I never have to worry about running out of things to write about. How often would you like to see in-depth essays as opposed to straight news? I’m wondering if I should pace myself and perhaps release a weekly column that covers ideas while spending the rest of the time covering events and personalities. Let me know what you think in the poll below:

Thanks again for all your support. I’ll see you on the campaign trail!

Awesome features. Thank you 🙏 . I’ll have to figure out how to do this for my Substack.
