At the 2022 Idaho GOP Convention in Twin Falls, Brent Regan began his nominating speech for Dorothy Moon by saying that Republicans are being hunted. I’m sure many quietly scoffed at such rhetoric. Yet reality asserted itself today, as TP USA founder Charlie Kirk was murdered live on stage at an even in Utah.
Coming a little more than a year after Donald Trump was shot in Pennsylvania, and mere days after the video of a deranged murderer stabbing an innocent woman in the neck on a Charlotte metro galvanized the nation, this horrific attack is a reminder of the stakes we face.
Conservatives have been playing the game the right way. In 2016, we went to the polls and elected a president who promised to make America great again. Even in 2020, when it appeared that his reelection had been stolen, we wrote articles, organized politically, and even protested (mostly) peacefully. That organization paid off in 2024, when we sent Donald Trump back to the White House.
The left was never going to let us take back our country without a fight. Unfortunately, political violence is an accepted tool for many on the left. They deployed it in the 1960s, with radical leftists using mail bombs and shootings to accomplish their political goals. They deployed it in 2020, responding to the death of a black criminal who overdosed on fentanyl by burning down American cities.
The American left has spent the last decade spewing dehumanizing propaganda, playing the same role that Radio Rwanda did prior to the genocide of hundreds of thousands of Tutsis in that country. Even as Charlie Kirk’s life bled out of him, commentators on CNN and MSNBC did their best to justify the shooting, essentially saying that Charlie had it coming for being so “hateful” and “controversial”.
I am shocked, saddened, and angry. There is a lot I want to say that is not fit to write on the screen. I hope justice is done—not just for the shooter and potential accomplices, but for all those who have pushed our culture to this breaking point. The dark irony is that Charlie Kirk’s entire mission in life was to have respectful dialogue between Americans. The very event at which he was killed was part of his tour of college campuses in which he invited critics to debate his ideas.
In a nation growing more polarized by the day, Charlie Kirk still called on our better angels. Now that he is gone, where do we go next?
All Charlie ever wanted was to have a conversation with his fellow citizens.
And the Left killed him for it.
This was cold-blooded political murder on American soil. It will not stand.
Be under no illusions.
There is a war on conservatives.
The left is entirely out of ideas
Violence is all they have left.
Stay armed and stay vigilant.
Praying for Charlie and his family.
Pray for Charlie Kirk’s family, and pray for America.
