Well written, thanks Brian! I especially appreciated the Mussolini quote - very apropos. We must at all times be able to distinguish the extent of government and citizens roles using clear demarcations. No easy task, but always a worthwhile effort..

In Shurtleff v. City of Boston (2022), the Supreme Court ruled unanimously (9-0) that Boston violated the First Amendment by refusing to fly a Christian group's flag at City Hall. The Court found the flag-raising program created a public forum for private speech, not government speech, making the refusal viewpoint discrimination.

Perhaps it is time to demand that City Hall fly a Right to Life flag.
