Thank you for bringing this important, common sense legislation to our attention. I wrote to all the committee members this morning and encourage everyone else reading this article to do the same. We know that the other side is writing and showing up.

I sent this simple short email to several contacts: The city of Coeur d’Alene attempting to force a local establishment called the Hitching Post to perform gay weddings or face fines of $1,000 a day, proves that Idaho citizens need protection.

On Monday afternoon, Rep. Bruce Skaug will present House Bill 557, which would standardize nondiscrimination ordinances throughout Idaho. The bill would prohibit cities from imposing local nondiscrimination ordinances beyond state law, declaring that such matters are the purview of the state alone.

Please contact the  House Local Government Committee and respectfully ask them to support this bill.  hloc@house.idaho.gov

I am sorry that there are many emails, but it is that time of year where our legislators need to hear from us.

If not us, who?
